I am at a party Saturday night when a woman asks me what I do and before I can respond someone else informs her - “Well, he used to be at The New York Times but he left and now he is at Tumblr.” The woman’s face lights up with excitement and she says ‘Wow! That is amazing - I am a trapeze artist. Where do you tumble?” Me: ”Huh? What! Oh no ‘TUMBLR’ like ‘TUMBLR DOT COM’” Then I quietly went back to the corner and sat by myself and computed Huffman encoding of the beer label. Honestly, I was flattered that she thought, based on my physical appearance, that I had any ability to be a tumbler.
